Say NO to More Industry in Kurnell – Protect Our Community!

Ausgrid is proposing a massive battery energy storage system (BESS) right here in Kurnell — the second such proposal for our peninsula in 2025 alone. This facility would be built right next to Australia’s largest fuel storage tanks and along the only single-lane road in and out of our community — putting our safety, environment, and way of life at serious risk.


Kurnell is not just any location. It is a site of deep cultural significance — the historic place where Captain Cook first landed and where the first recorded meeting with Indigenous Australians took place. It also borders internationally recognised, UNESCO-protected wetlands that must be preserved.


We’ve had enough industrialisation in our backyard. It’s time to draw the line.
